Welcome to The Art of Maternity Workshop!

This workshop is for the photographer who feels stuck, wants their work to feel more intentional, has a million questions but doesn't know who to ask, and who wants to build a business they genuinely love, without sacrificing themselves in the process.

Maybe you are craving more confidence, struggling with client experience, communication, pricing, mindset, marketing, work-life balance, finding your creative spark again, or maybe you just want reassurance that you are on the right track.

Throughout the day, you will step into my world and see exactly how I approach maternity photography from start to finish.

You will shoot alongside me during two live maternity sessions, ask questions in real time, learn how I create connection and emotion within my images, and gain practical tools you can immediately implement into your own business.

Here is exactly how the day will unfold!

  • We begin the day with a relaxed welcome over a hot beverage, treats from Rustic Bakehouse (YUM) and conversation.

    This is your opportunity to settle in, meet the other photographers, explore the space, and start building connections before we dive into the big day ahead.

  • We begin with a guided welcome circle using prompted reflections.
    This sets the tone for deeper learning, connection and intention throughout the day.

    CLIENT EXPERIENCE & MARKETING

    This session focuses on the full journey from enquiry to delivery. We explore:

    • Creating emotional safety for mothers
    • Language that builds trust
    • Experience over transaction
    • Attracting aligned clients
    • Storytelling in your marketing
    • Showing process rather than perfection

    MINDSET & CREATIVE DIRECTION

    We move into deeper discussion around:

    • Creative blocks
    • Comparison
    • Confidence
    • Clarifying your direction
    • Setting intentional goals
    • Work life balance

    This is where transformation often happens.

  • A catered lunch from JJ’s Bakery to fuel up for our first session.

  • During this live maternity session, you will learn:

    • Working confidently with natural indoor light
    • Reading and responding to changing light conditions
    • Camera settings and lens choices
    • Composition and storytelling
    • Natural posing and gentle direction
    • Creating connection and emotion indoors
    • Shooting with purpose

    This is hands on. You will be shooting alongside me while I talk through my thought process in real time.

    Post session, we will pause to reflect on what worked, what shifted, and answer any immediate questions before moving into the next part of the day.

  • POST FLOW & EDITING

    We cover:

    • Culling mindset
    • Editing consistency
    • Protecting your time
    • Staying true to your style
    • Creating efficiency without losing intention

    We will also explore the systems, workflows and habits that help create a sustainable photography business without sacrificing creativity.

  • During this session, you will learn:

    • How to confidently shoot in direct sun
    • Using shadow creatively
    • Positioning for flattering light
    • Styling and wardrobe considerations
    • Creating variety in a single location
    • Holding confidence as a photographer

    This session strengthens your ability to adapt in changing conditions and create beautiful imagery regardless of the light available to you.

    You will continue shooting alongside me while learning how I approach creative direction, client interaction and storytelling in real time.

  • Q&A & CLOSING

    An open space for final questions, reflections and integration.

    Together we will unpack the biggest lessons from the day, identify your next steps, and ensure you leave feeling clear, confident and excited about where you're heading next.

  • The experience does not end when the day finishes.

    A private Instagram group will be established before the workshop for introductions and connection.

    The group will remain open following the workshop for continued support and community.

    You will also receive two weeks of direct message support with me following the workshop.

  • For those who would like to continue the conversation, there will be the opportunity to join us for dinner and drinks following the workshop.

    Completely optional (you might be exhausted haha) but a beautiful way to connect, celebrate and continue building relationships with like minded photographers.

  • This workshop is open to photographers at all stages, whether you are at the beginning of your journey or an established photographer ready to elevate your maternity work.

    If you are newer to photography, you will gain a strong foundation in light, posing, and confidence.
    If you are more experienced, you will benefit from the live shoots, collaboration, deeper discussion, and creative reset.

    All you need is a solid understanding of your camera and the ability to shoot in manual mode.

    If you are not quite there yet, reach out, I can hold a 1:1 session prior to the workshop so you can feel fully prepared and confident attending.

  • Yes! If you are comfortable using your camera and want to start offering maternity sessions, this workshop will give you the foundations and confidence to do so.

  • Yes! There are two full live maternity sessions, sunrise and full sun, and everyone will have hands on shooting time.

  • Yes! To make joining feel comfortable and completely stress free, we have created three flexible payment options, including pay in full, four instalments, and weekly payments.

  • A DSLR or mirrorless camera and a lens you’re comfortable using.
    A full gear checklist will be sent prior to the workshop so you can come prepared without overpacking.

  • Yes! Coffee, morning tea, lunch, snacks and beverages are all included during the workshop.

  • We work with light, not against it. If conditions shift, that becomes part of the learning experience. A backup plan will be in place if needed. We also have access to indoor and outdoor locations.

  • Spots are intentionally limited to keep the day intimate, hands on, and supportive.

  • Yes! You will be added to a private Instagram group for ongoing community support, and I will also be offering direct message support for two weeks following the workshop.
